ISD Announces Retirement of Senior Project Engineer Tim Hill
Senior Project Engineer closes an 18-year career built on complex ASRS and conveyor system deployments.
WIXOM, MI, July 15, 2026, ISD – Integrated Systems Design today announced the retirement of Senior Project Engineer Tim Hill after 18 years with the company.
Hill joined ISD in 2008, before warehouse automation became a mainstream industry term. He spent his career in project engineering, taking on progressively complex systems as the company grew.
“Tim set the standard here for how you run a project,” said Tony Morgott, CEO of ISD. “He kept his composure on jobs that tested everyone around him. Our customers trusted him, and so did our engineers. That combination is rare.”
A Career of Complex Systems
Hill contributed to the development and implementation of ISD’s first UltraStore dual-mast ASRS. The project advanced the company’s engineering capabilities and remains one of his career highlights.
His most demanding assignment came in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. The customer wanted to reuse existing conveyor in a new system layout. Hill and his team assessed and inventoried the equipment under a tight schedule.
“It looked like a scrap yard of old beat-up conveyor and was very daunting,” Hill said. “Through perseverance and a ‘one step at a time’ mentality, it turned out to be a great system.”
A commissioning project in Mexico produced a different kind of test. The customer asked ISD to clear pallets from the plant floor and load them into the new system within a day. Hill’s team expected to work through the night.
“The system performed as designed and we were done within a couple hours,” Hill said. “The whole plant erupted with applause and cheers when we loaded the last pallet.”
Advice and Legacy
Hill credits ISD’s leadership for the company’s repeat business. “Our leadership here pushes for quality,” he said. “That’s why customers keep coming back to us for new projects.”
His advice to new engineers is direct. “Listen to the people around you. ISD has a very talented team, each with their own area of expertise, and there is always something to learn from them.”
ISD was roughly half its current size when Hill started. He hopes his work ethic continues to influence the team.
“I’ve been lucky to work with incredibly talented people — engineers, techs, project managers, and customers who genuinely care about doing things the right way,” Hill said. “ISD has always been a place where teamwork matters and where quality isn’t just a slogan, it’s the expectation.”
